Acquisition of the country of others – robbers do that, not rulers. Do you know [Isaac] Newton? If you punch the wall, the wall will punch you. If you throw the rock, the rock will come back to you. But what do we have? They have guns; they have rockets. We have nothing. And if someone does something here, their family will be taken and their house will be destroyed. Their family will be in the street without any shelter. It’s something to watch out for. There are consequences if you do something. They have Palestinian hearts in their chests and they think of Palestine. But if they do anything, they will go to bed [at night], then in the early morning, they will capture them. That makes nobody want to do anything, and to look before they do anything. Our government here in the West Bank doesn’t protect us. There are acquisitions of land every day. The Israeli occupation comes every day.

There is resistance here, with rocks and shouts if they enter. [But] they can come to your home and take you out of your bed. And you go to the prison, and every day you will be punished. Our government and the Israeli occupation are one, with the same computer. They call it ‘security coordination’, cooperating with each other. They work as one. They don’t protect us. They [both] take the same action. It’s to put more pressure on Palestinians. It works on some Palestinians, and they left their land. We have five million refugees around the world. I have respect for people who stay and respect for people who go. When you [know] that God is greater than everything, you will not fear anyone. You will not fear for your life; you will want to say what you say. Not everyone has that amount of belief. You can’t talk about someone when you are not in their situation. – Nizar
